Would you like to refine your fluency in French writing and gain a deeper understanding of the grammatical and lexical nuances of the language?

Please note: These workshops are designed for advanced learners or native speakers who wish to polish their written expression and accuracy.

Through concrete examples and practical activities, participants will sharpen their sense of linguistic precision, correctness, and style.

Each 3-hour session focuses on a specific set of challenges frequently encountered in written French—even by native speakers.

General objective

To develop a more precise mastery of French grammar and usages to write with accuracy, clarity, and elegance.

Specific objectives

  • Identify and apply complex agreement rules in various contexts
  • Avoid common structural errors and ambiguous sentence constructions
  • Enrich written vocabulary and select the most appropriate words according to context
  • Correct frequent mistakes related to syntax, lexicon, and verb agreement
  • Develop a smoother, more natural, and nuanced writing style

Workshop content

Workshop 1 – Complex agreements

  • Review of challenging agreement cases: compound adjectives, past participles, collective nouns, percentages, colors, and more
  • Contextualized exercises to reinforce understanding and application of grammar rules

Workshop 2 – Difficult constructions

  • Mastering ambiguous or incorrect structures (il s’agit de, permettre de, manquer à, penser à, se souvenir de)
  • Clarifying word meanings and correct usage in both spoken and written French
  • Practice through contextualized exercises and reformulations

Workshop 3 – Finding the right word: pitfalls and nuances

  • Focus on commonly confused words (évoquer/invoquer, amener/apporter, continuer/continuer à)
  • Deepening vocabulary richness and word choice according to context
  • Rewriting and lexical enrichment activities

Teaching approach

The approach combines theoretical review, analysis of authentic examples, and immediate practical application.
